Game On – The Card Concept Challenge 139

Son number 2 got married on Saturday. It was a beautiful ceremony, the weather held out, and I’m so relieved that it’s all over. I sat down at my craft table yesterday about 3 times and tried to make cards but not a single creative spark appeared. This morning, I tried again using the graphic from the card Concept to spark my creativity.

The black and white striped pillows were the first thing that popped out at me when I saw this graphic. There are so many things to focus on from this graphic. The sunflowers, the chalk board, the vase or the crocks, would all make perfect starting points, but I started with the stripes. I didn’t have any designer paper with stripes so I decided to cut 1/2″ black strips to create the stripes. The fun Game On stamp set was on my desk and I had just mounted it and wanted to play with it.

The dice are stamped with Tuxedo Black ink onto a whisper white 2″ circle. It’s layered on a 2 1/4″ black circle. The greeting is stamped directly onto the card base.

My card is done in the Clean and Graphic style. It has clean lines with no frills. The text is simply stamped directly onto the card. It could easily be called bare boned and the message is communicated quickly.

  1. Hi Robyn, Congratulations on the new family member. I love the bold black stripes and the diece image. The sentiment looks perfect stamped on the base between your black stripes. I think you found your mojo.
