Happy Father’s Day Card

Time for another DOswts blog hop challenge! Today I’m using the Handsomely Suited stamp set and Suit and Tie Dies to create a fun Father’s Day Card.

This spiffy suit is nestled onto an Evening Evergreen card base that is cut using a Corner Flip Technique. There are 5 new In Colors, any of which could be used on a card for this Blog Hop. The other In Colors are Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Soft Succulent, and Fresh Freesia.

The Corner Flip Technique used on this card can be a bit confusing but the basic idea is to two slit in the card front and score to fold it back and create a Corner Flip. The directions below will help to create the basic card base for the Corner Flip, which can be decorated as desired. Watch my quick Corner Flip Technique Video Tutorial.

Basic Directions to create Corner Flip Card Base:
1. Start with an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card base scored at 4 1/4″. Place the card stock horizontal on the trimmer. Line the left edge of the card on the 3″ line and place the cutting blade at 3″. Cut from the 3″ mark to the 5/8″ mark.

2. Flip the card base clockwise so that it is vertical. Line up the left edge at the 2 1/2″ mark and cut from 3″ to 5/8″.

3.  Mark at 5/8″ from the fold on the top and at 1 7/8″ from the bottom right corner.  Score the small area from the outside edge to the cut on both the top and the side.  Flip the sliced card front inside out. Place a dimensional in the corner to hold down.

4. Layer a 2 7/8″ square onto the flip. Decorate as desired.

The collar and white shirt v are both cut from dies in the Suit & Tie Die set. They are adhered onto of a 2 7/8″ square of Well Suited Designer Paper. The Real Red bow is cut with one of the Suit & Tie Dies and then embossed with the Seashells Embossing Folder (It was laying next to my Cut & Emboss Machine). I almost forgot the 2 cute Gold Foil Buttons! The die cuts out 6 buttons at a time, yay! I love how clean and neat the greeting image is from the Handsomely Suited Stamp set.
