Sweet Songbirds

Today’s card is inspired by The Card Concept #173 Challenge. Picture challenges are my second favorite challenge. There are always so many different things to choose from the photo! This image has a bird cage, pink flowers, or even the script black number. I chose to use bird image as the inspiration for my card.

The Sweet Songbirds stamp set is from the 2022-2023 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog which goes live on May 3. It’s has 24 photopolymer stamps for lots of stamping options. There is also a coordinating Songbird Builder punch.

The Card Concept #173 Challenge

Although the #173 challenge is titled Vintage Style my card is in the clean and layered style. It has lots of white space and several layers. It’s also an example of simple stamping, with only stamps, ink and paper used.

The little flowers were stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink along both edges of the card Flirty Flamingo card base to give the background a bit of interest. None of the layers are popped up but that could be an option too.

Paper Dimensions:

  • Flirty Flamingo base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Scored at 4 1/2″
  • Sweet Symmetry DSP 3″ x 5 1/2″
  • Calypso Coral 3 3/4″ x 4 1/4″
  • Basic White 3 1/2″ x 4″
  • Two 1/2″ x 5″ Sweet Symmetry
  • Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″

This stamp set is really fun to stamp with, the many stamps can be mix and matched to create different looks. It has 7 greetings for different occasions and the photopolymer stamps are easy to line up.

Use strips of the Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper on the inside to connect the card front to the inside. Those cute little flower blossoms look great scattered around the greeting.
