Tackle Box Father’s Day Card

This card is copied right out of page 78 of the Stampin’ Up! catalog. I saw this card and just had to order the Gone Fishing Bundle! About the only change that I made from the catalog version is that I used a Smoky Slate card base instead of covering a white base with the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Paper.

Warning! This card does involve lots of die cutting little pieces to create all of the tackle. The greeting is heat embossed with White Embossing Powder to make it stand out on the Pebbled Path colored cardstock. The little watery background stamp was used in each tackle box tray with VersaMark ink. The ink colors used are listed in the product list at the end of this blog post.

Some black twine was used to look like fishing line and silver foil was used for the hooks and little shinny tags (I don’t have any idea what those are called, I’m not a fisherman).

The top layer of the tackle box is popped up with dimensionals. I used the edges of some mini dimensionals and cut them into little pieces to fit the narrow dividers.

I wanted to see what the border die in the set cut out so I cut off the bottom of the Balmy Blue layer on the inside of the card. It cuts off the edge and adds embossed splashes.

My dad would have loved this card! Memories of fishing with him are still very special, even though fishing never did become one of my favorite pastimes, I loved sharing those times with him. Give your dad an extra hug from me!
