The cards that I’ll be sharing for the next few days are from a demonstrator event that I attended last weekend. The stamp set is one that will be available in September in the holiday catalog. When I first saw this set it reminded me of these cool flowers we used to make back in the 70’s by dipping twisted wire into some kind of plastic stuff and then making flowers. They were gorgeous and fun to make.

This pretty floral set does have a die set as well, which you will see used on the card below. The online presentation offered two Make and Takes, for each of the tree card designs. The first was a simple version and the second was a stepped up version. This card uses the Deckled Rectangle Dies to cut out the white layer. Vanilla colored Basic Matte Dots adorn the bottom right. Ink colors are Poppy Parade and Garden Green. I like that even though I didn’t get the stems perfectly aligned with the blossoms the image is still nice.

The inside echoes the card front.

I really messed up on the stepped up version, lol. This card has images stamped on vellum and then die cut. They get overlaid on the images stamped onto the white card stock. I got too much ink on my vellum pieces and didn’t have time to let them dry. Then I flipped over my piece to add dimensionals and got green ink smudges on my card front. Groan…when I put it all together it was a smudgy mess. I borrowed a Gold Wink of Stella from my fellow demonstrator Brenda (we were attending the online event together with 6 of the DOstamperSTARS group) and splattered the gold Wink all over the card. I even added some more Garden Green leaves to cover up some of the smudges. In the end I think it turned out okay even if it didn’t look quite like the example.

The inside was again finished off with another flower.

I found this on YouTube about the dipped flowers that I recalled. I little bit of nostalgia for you.
