Today’s card pays homage to the beauty of the Northern Lights.

To create the Northern Lights background a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock was colored using Blending Brushes and several colors of ink. I began with a circle of Petal Pink in the center and then worked outward with strips of Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather. The Granny Apple Green is really the star of the night show with three strips radiating from the center. Tahitian Tide and Night of Navy were added around the outsides. I wanted something a bit darker and added Orchid Oasis to complete the scene.

The majestic bear is from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set. The trees and rocks are from the Grassy Grove stamp set. All of the images are stamped with Tuxedo Black ink. A mask was used on the bear to make the trees appear behind him.

A 5 1/4″ x 4″ matte of Granny Apple Green lays under the bear with a card base of Orchid Oasis. A Basic White layer is placed inside the card for a hand written greeting. To add a bit of dimension dimensionals are added under the Granny Apple Green layer.
