Give it a Whirl Sea Turtles

Today’s card uses the unique Sea Turtles photopolymer stamp set which has stamps that are dual sided. One side can be used to stamp details and the other side can be used for a solid shape. For this card I’ve used Lost Lagoon and Granny Apple Green inks for all of the images.

I’ve combined it with the Give it a Whirl dies to make a fun spinner card. To give the spinner room to move, the panel is adhered with dimensionals. Five were used, one in each corner and one under the spinner circle.

The base is Soft Sea Foam 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and has a die cut notch (Give it a Whirl Die) on the front edge to make it easier to work the spinner.

There are two layers of the large popped up die cut. One is a piece of Basic White and the other Hello, Irresistible Designer Series Paper. I first started thinking I could just use the designer paper but it was just too thin to hold up. These two are adhered together with liquid glue.

The Sea Turtles stamp set doesn’t have any greetings, so I’ve pull the greetings from the Zany Zoo stamp set. I’ve used three of the Flat Pearl gems, I thought that they were a good fit for a sea themed card.

The inside uses some more stamps from the Sea Turtles set as well another greeting from Zany Zoo.

I rarely get to see any turtles here on our farm in Minnesota. Years ago we used to have one that would pass through in the spring each year but I haven’t seen it in a long time. I love watching the turtles in the channel at our Florida home. Their heads pop up like periscopes and sometimes their shells can be seen before the flip and go back under.

It’s been a little while since I used the Give it a Whirl Dies. It took me a couple of minutes to remember how to use it, lol. It’s pretty easy to use though, much easier than doing a spinner card from scratch. If you do many spinner cards, I recommend purchasing this die set. Now is a great time, because you will earn a $5 Bonus Coupon to use in August for each $50 purchase.
