I’ve got a bunch of cards to share which are created with some left over scrap strips. I’ve got a video tutorial for you too! I’ll be sharing part of the cards today and the rest tomorrow.

Here’s the card that I created on my Scrappy Strips Video Tutorial. The basic idea is to use scrap strips (these are cut to 1/2″ x 3″) and layer them onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock which is cut about 1/2″ larger than the die that will be used to cut it when complete. The die used for this scrappy strip piece comes from the Nested Essentials Die set.

The ship is from the On the Ocean Dies and the greeting is from the matching On the Ocean stamp set and is inked with Night of Navy ink. The Night of Navy matte is embossed with the Painted Textures Embossing Folder. The only place that Stampin’ Dimensionals are used on this card is for the greeting strip which is 1/2″ x 4″.

Here’s another card using the On the Ocean Bundle. This card uses 1/4″ strips and the circle is cut with two dies from the Stylish Shapes Die sets. I actually made a mistake when cutting the large circle and ended up with a flat spot on my circle. I decided to cut the circle smaller and then spun the larger frame circle so that the flat spot would be covered by the ship. I’m not as happy with this ship, it’s really meant to be stamped first, to capture the details, before die cutting.

This is the card that started this creative journey. It was CASE’d from fellow demonstrator, Brian King. It uses the Stylish Shapes Dies for the circle, and the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and Waves Dies. The edges of the Pebbled Path matte were sponged with Pebbled Path ink. The Moody Mauve layer is embossed with the Raindrops Embossing Folder. These strips are 1/2″ wide and were layered onto a 3 1/2″ Basic Black square.
