Scrappy Strips Part Two

Here’s a look at the rest of the cards that I’ve made recently using scrap strips to create a die cut background.

This is my Clean & Simple take on the idea. The banner is a die cut from the Nested Essentials Die set. I’ve used a rainbow design for the strips covering this piece of Basic Black paper. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet. The greeting is from the Very Best Occasions stamp set and is punched out with the Double Oval Punch and popped up with dimensionals.

This nature themed card uses die cuts from the Grove Die set with a circle cut from the Stylish Shapes Dies. The strips are done in blues, yellows and greens. I tried spacing the strips close together at the bottom and farther apart towards the top of the circle for a different look. The greeting is from the Charming Sentiments stamp set and cut with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouette Dies. The base is Shaded Spruce as well as the ink used on the greeting. The Parakeet Party layer is embossed with the Fern Embossing Folder. A ribbon is added under the greeting which is popped up with dimensionals.

Finally, I have my Star Crossed Love card. The Sweet & Sassy hearts dies used on this card are long retired, but I love these curvy hearts. The embossing folder is also retired, and is called Star Crossed. The greeting is from the Charming Sentiments, again die cut with the Sentiment Silhouette Dies. The striped heart and greeting are popped up with dimensionals, everything else is adhered flat.

I hope that you have as much fun with this technique as I did! It’s a great way to use up those long scrap strips! If you haven’t already watched it I’ve done a technique video – Scrappy Strips Technique.

I haven’t listed the papers used for the scrap strips – because you are going to use scraps that you have, right?
