Life is Better when you’re Crafting!

For me crafting feeds my soul. I love this greeting from the Crafting with You stamp set! I also love the the scissors die!

I actually used a photo from the Stampin’ Up! catalog as inspiration for this card. Sometimes I just can’t seem to get started and CASEing (Copy And Share Everything) is a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

Here is the catalog sample that I used for inspiration. You can see that I changed it up quite a bit. I put the cut and emboss machine and trimmer on the bottom and of course added the scissors. I did a narrow strip of Orchid Oasis paper between the two pieces of designer paper and did it straight instead of at an angle. I used a different pattern of paper but from the same Delightfully Eclectic pack of paper. Sometimes I CASE a card exactly as it is but mostly I add a little twist to it to make it my own.

I thought that the paper trimmer sort of lost it’s details so I rubbed the die in my White ink pad before die cutting. The die embosses the lines and details onto the paper when it cuts but you really have to look close to see them.

The fastener holding the scissor halves together is one of the Neutrals Matte Dots. The base is a piece of Thick Basic White but the entire front is covered with designer paper. It’s actually one piece of the Delightfully Eclectic paper that is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and then cut at 3″. The pieces are adhered with one showing one side of the paper and the other showing the opposite side. This is a great way to see both sides of the paper when you can’t decide which side to use, hehehe…

Hope you enjoyed this card and you get inspired to create one with your own twist. You can purchase the supplies to make this card from my store. Links to the products used are provided below.
