Meaningful Flowers Paper Pumpkin

Today I finally sat down to play with my August Paper Pumpkin Kit! I’m a bit behind, as usual! I love my Paper Pumpkin kits, they are so much fun to create with and they are a great way to create a robust stamp library.

If you aren’t familiar with Paper Pumpkin, it is a monthly subscription craft kit. Each month the kit comes with a stamp set, ink pad and supplies to make either cards, or other paper crafts.

There are two designs in this Meaningful Flowers kit, the Forget-Me-Not card has a fun die cut front and a pretty die cut bouquet to place inside the card.

Even the envelopes have pretty matching designs inside the flap! This kit came with a Pretty Peacock colored ink spot, Linen Thread, and gems.

The second design was Lotus themed. There is a vellum piece on the bottom that created a pocket and the die cut lotus with the stamped greeting will slide into the pocket, but I preferred it popped up with dimensionals on top of it.

I have a garden pond with koi and waterlilies so I really like the lotus stamps in this set. One of the prettiest flower sites that I have seen is the lotus pond in bloom at the Amana Colonies in Iowa. I don’t think that my little pond is big enough for lotus, lol, even my lilies seem to have taken it over. It’s fun seeing the frogs sitting on the Lilly pads and my koi look pretty amongst them.

Right away when I got this kit, I knew that I wanted to try stamping the lilies on Crumb Cake paper and coloring them with a white colored pencil. The pretty Wavy Trim (not in the kit) was attached with Glue Dots.

I used white craft ink to stamp the flower and the Pretty Peacock spot from the kit for the stem. Then, I used the white pencil from the Watercolor Pencil set to fill in the petals. Some of the definition of the petals got lost, so I used the Melon Mambo pencil to add edges to the petals and the Daffodil Delight pencil to make a center.

Check back tomorrow for two more alternate uses for these fun Meaningful Flowers stamp sets.
