I know it’s a bit early for Valentine cards but this past Saturday at the Online OnStage Stampin’ Up! unveiled the upcoming Spring Mini Catalog and the make and takes were using the Be Mine Valentine Bundle which is a two-step stamp set and Punch. I just had to share.

The punch has 2 hearts (wings and antenna) and the oval body (anyone else see a word bubble here?). The sample for this card used the opposite side of the patterned paper with the bees but I just couldn’t put glue on these cute bees, so mine’s a bit different than most.

I had two sets of card parts ready in case I screwed up and managed to make both cards. Here you can see the other sides of the designer paper and the cool honeycomb stamp that was done on the background.

For the second card we used the two-step stamps to color in the bee. Of course this card wasn’t supposed to have the top paper showing the bees.

I cut the honeycomb paper the wrong direction for this card so flipped the base. With a little stamp masking, the bee mine greeting fit on the heart shape that punches out the wings.

I loved the look of the watercolored wings. We used a Water Painter, picked up a bit of ink and swooshed it over the stamped wings. The pretty flower embellishments are part of the suite as well.
