Christmas Cheer

Even though this order probably won’t make it in time for Christmas, it’s an awesome time to stock up on red, pink, white and black cardstock for all those Valentine cards you will be making next month! Be sure to check out the Clearance Rack and Last Chance Sale for even more bargains!

Today I’m sharing my little attempt at Christmas cheer here in my home. I decided to scale way back this year, and so far I’m happy with it. Although, I do feel like I’m missing out on seeing some of my old friends (like the rest of my nativity collection). I know that the spirit of Christmas isn’t about tinsel and light but it sure does lift my spirits!

My Santa from Lego Land put together by my daughter Amanda and grandsons Isaac and Zen.

The kitchen got Peanuts cutouts for quick and easy decorating. I love beagles in all their stubborn glory.

My tree probably sighed a big sigh of relief when only a small portion of the ornaments got put on it. My grandsons Wyatt and Huntley decorated it for me. My cat, Princess, seems to think that the tree skit is some type of cat toy. She has also gnawed on a few packages. I think she is regressing in old age.

This nod to our Florida experience came from my daughter-in-law Karissa.

This is the only nativity set that I pulled out this year. It was a gift from my husband and son Ethan. It’s special to me because I think my husband thinks I’m crazy for all my Christmas decorations, yet he bought me this knowing that I would love it.

I didn’t put out my Christmas village but I had to pull out my animated Frost Friends because the kids just love pushing the buttons and watching the light show and listening to the music. These were also gifts from my son Nick’s family over the years.

The Santa on the mantle was a gift from Elsie Sandquist, my children’s piano teacher. I think of her every year when I pull it out and how patient she was with the kids. I’ve just finished up the holiday concerts with the grandkids. So the tradition of music continues in my family.

This centerpiece is on my class table. I’m not sure if it will have to come off for class or if we can work around it?

Here are seven of my favorite people and the ones that I am most thankful for at Christmas. The cool gnome greeters behind them were from the Boy Scouts in the group. They were part of the offering in their wreath sales. My husband and sons created the bench for them and the log tree. My guys are pretty creative too, they just use different media than paper, ink and stamps.

I hope that you have enjoyed this walk through my Christmas home. My wish for you is to be able to slow down, if even for a few minutes, and partake of some inner peace and joy during this hectic holiday season.

P.S. Sorry for the ad at the very top but I really wanted to make sure that you knew about the special. I’m one of those frugal girls who loves a bargain and I HATE how much shipping costs!
