Countryside Corners

First I would like to give a great big thank you to Dawn Olchefski for doing a recruiting challenge for the STARS and offering a free bundle to the winner. Next, I’d like to thank the four ladies who joined my Hollywood Stamping Chicks demonstrator team (Cheryl J., Helen H., Theresa M., and Karissa R.)

Now here is my first card created with the Countryside Corners Bundle that I chose for my prize!

The Countryside Corners frame is stamped with Azure Afternoon ink and is popped up with foam strips. Can I pretend that shadow behind the bear from Wildlife Wonder stamp was stamped directly onto the Misty Moonlight layer on purpose? No, I have to be honest with you, (darn) it was a mistake. I didn’t get the bear stamp inked properly and the image was not clear, but by offsetting the second bear, stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock it looks like he is casting a shadow. Both bears are stamped with Early Espresso ink.

The bear is also popped up to make the shadow seem more realistic. I got the greeting stamped just a bit kittywampus so I positioned the frame to match the greeting. When you can’t make a straight line, embrace the crooked line with gusto!

For the inside of the card I fussy cut a tree from the A Walk in the Forest Designer Series Paper. This paper pairs wonderfully with the Wildlife Wonders stamp set as well as the Beary Christmas Bundle.

As I was playing with the Countryside Corners Bundle I ended up cutting out a pile of pieces. At first I thought I could stamp the image (the various frame layer decorations are all on one stamp), and then cut them out all at one time, BUT I wouldn’t recommend it. The dies just didn’t stay in place well. Maybe if everything was taped down? I found it best to cut out one die at a time to create the frames.

My goal is to have 2 or 3 more cards created with this mess of leftover parts, to share with you next week.

Hope you got a chance to take advantage of the free shipping offer today!
