It’s a Zany Celebration

Today’s card uses not only the Countryside Corners Bundle but also the Zany Zoo stamp set and Zoo Crew Designer Series paper.

This card was super easy to create! Stamp the Countryside Corners image on Crushed Curry paper and die cut the frame. Use the same die to cut the elephant from the Zoo Crew DSP and adhere the frame to the elephant. Stamp the celebrate greeting at the open space under the elephant (I think it was made for this greeting to fit!). Pull in a Night of Navy card base (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″). Use dimensionals to pop up the image and add some sequins on the bottom. DONE!

Okay, I lied, not quite done. Fussy cut one of the other critters that are on the edge of the Designer Series paper so aren’t quite complete. Tuck it up in a corner or on an edge and you have a cutie on the inside too. Plus, you didn’t toss that cute raccoon into the trash!

P.S. Just had to share my Christmas baking story from yesterday. I made some peanut brittle, amazingly everything went smoothly. So…I decided that I could make some Potica (I think it’s Finnish, it’s a staple up in Northern Minnesota where I grew up, although I’m of German ancestry). It’s a sweet bread that gets a filling rolled up in it, sort of messy and time consuming but I thought what the heck. Anyway, I had all the stuff out and was scalding the milk when I looked in the refrigerator for the yeast and …NO YEAST. It was on the shopping list so my fault for not checking. My son makes pizza crusts so I’m guessing he used up the yeast. So, turn off the stove and head to town for yeast. I eventually did get the Potica done and all was well but yikes, now I remember why I don’t cook or bake much anymore, it takes planning.
