Love

The theme for today’s #DOswts427 Challenge is Love. With Valentine’s Day coming soon, I’ve been creating several Valentine cards. When I saw the – I adore YOU greeting- in the Adoring Hearts Bundle, I thought it would be perfect for a Love themed card.

The embossed hearts were created using the Adoring Hearts Embossing Folder and a 6″ x 6″ piece of Bubble Bath cardstock. Then the piece was cut into three strips that were 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″. Two were used for this card. The third will be for another love themed card. The greeting on the left is popped up with dimensionals while the ones on the right are adhered with tape runner.

As you can see by some of the double embossing lines on the photo below, I was working fast to get this card done (nothing like leaving it until the last minute!). I have my very old, very worn out die cut machine here at my winter home, and I’m afraid it might be time to put it out to pasture. When running the folder through the second direction I must have moved the paper, grrr….

The heart, leaf frame was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Watercolor Pencils, and then fussy cut. Darn, I was truly wishing that there was a die to cut this image out, lol. There were six of the Hearts & Flowers embellishments added, three on each side of the bi-fold front.

The inside has a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of the Lighter Than Air Designer Series Paper, with another heart greeting. This one does have a die, it is the large die that cuts out the nine hearts from the embossing folder.
