The Quiet Reflection stamp set really caught my eye because of the greetings. Especially the one that says, “The friendship of a pet is one of life’s greatest gifts.” Then I received the swap card that I posted on Jan 5 from Beverly Jackson and I opened my eyes to the two reflection images.

The image is placed on a 3″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock. First a a wash of Balmy Blue and Pool Party ink was added to the cardstock for a background. Next, the ink was added to the stamp using two ink pads, Garden Green on the top half and Shaded Spruce on the bottom. Then an Evening Evergreen Stampin’ Write Marker (retired In-Color) was used to add detail to the trees. After huffing on the image to rewet the ink, it was stamped over the background. The Stampin’ Write Markers contain the exact same ink as the ink pads, so the two work seamless together.

To finish the card, a Shaded Spruce 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ matte was added under the image and a greeting was stamped on one of my ‘disaster’ pieces that was created when I was trying to spritz the image with water before stamping. I was hoping that the greeting would fit in the smaller oval from the Double Oval Punch, but, no luck there. So I used the larger oval and then punched another from Shaded Spruce and cut it in half. Then I layered the two halves under the greeting for my matte.
The Softly Stippled Designer Paper layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and is one of the Sale-a-bration items that are free with a $50 order.
This card was actually inspired by my friend Inge. She was talking about one of her brothers who hasn’t really spoken to her in years because of some past grievance. He has some health issues now and she has been sending him cards to let him know that she is thinking about him. My family also had some of those crazy feuds in its history. I sure hope that her cards are healing some of the hurt.
