Sea Turtles

Today’s card is another card from my Creative Cards Class which was yesterday. It was an awesome Valentine’s Day activity. We did three, beach themed cards and a fun treat package ( with some chocolates and Carmels). The Sea Turtle stamp set and the Beach Day Bundle were used.

The Sea Turtle stamp set is a Reversible set and several of the stamps were used on both sides. Reversible sets are great for watercolor images, and adding multiple colors quickly. The back side of the turtle was inked with Granny Apple Green and then spritzed with water before stampin on Basic White paper, then the stamp was cleaned and re-mounted and the front side was inked with Old Olive and stamp over the Granny Apple layer. It was then fussy cut and set aside while the background was prepared.

The bubbles were done with Lost Lagoon and the back side of that stamp was done with Coastal Cabana, in overlapping layers. The center was left fairly open.

A school of Gray Granite fish swim across the card, with some star fish done in Marina Mist (retired color) and Creamy Carmel (anyone else remember this color?). Some Old Olive seaweed is also randomly stamped on the background.

The greeting is from the Beach Day stamp set and was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on a piece of Pool Party paper, which I thought was Coastal Cabana, lol.

Both the greeting and the turtle are popped up with dimensionals.

Here are the paper dimensions:

  • Coastal Cabana Base 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Pretty Peacock 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • Basic White 2 layers 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Basic White 4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ for turtle
  • Coastal Cabana 1/2″ x 3 1/2″

The inside of the card has another school of fish swimming across the bottom.

Hope you have a wonderful day!
