Happy Saturday! It’s time for another STARS Challenge. Today’s challenge starts with a layout sketch. Layouts are one of my favorites for starting a card when I’m totally blank on inspiration. Today I decided to try out a fun technique that I’ve been seeing online using an ink pad and dragging it across the debossed side of an embossed paper. (the side with the flowers popped in)

The Layered Florals 3D Embossing Folder was used for this panel. After embossing a Basic White piece of card stock, a bit of color was aded to the flowers and leaves with Blending Brushes. It could also be left white. Then a juicy Tuxedo Black ink pad was dragged across the embossed layer. It was a bit messy but my Glass Matt Studio made for easy clean-up.
Here is the sketch, as you can see I followed almost exactly.

I did add a Basic Black matte layer under the embossed layer to make it stand out more. The sentiment and matte layer are popped up with dimensional. My greeting is a bit longer than the layout one.

I started with a larger than necessary piece of card stock when embossing so had enough extra to have a 1″ x 5 1/4″ strip on the inside.

I also adhered a strip of the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper (which was Free during Sale-a-bration) to the flap on the envelope. It could also be stamped with the Stipple Rose stamps if you didn’t get any of the paper during SAB.
As I’m finishing up and looking at the card, I’m wondering if it needs some bling? What do you think? Bling or no bling? Any suggestions on which bling?
