Swap Card Friday

It’s time for swap card Friday, where I show you cards that I’ve received from other card artists. Today I’ve got four more awesome cards for you from a swap that I participated in with other demonstrators.

The first card, by Denise Shriver, features a greeting from the Something Fancy stamp set and some really cool die cuts from the Thoughtful Expressions Dies (Retiring and no longer available). It also has a pretty Drapery Fold Technique using the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. Check back next week for instructions and a video tutorial on this technique.

The next card, by Nancy Burt-Preece, also features the Thoughtful Expressions Dies and the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set. Although the dies have retired, the stamp set is carrying on into the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. Not sure why these gorgeous dies didn’t carry over too. This card uses the Spotlighting Technique. This is where a portion of the image is die cut, colored and then matted and/or popped up with dimensionals to spotlight a portion of the image.

This card, created by Sue Berreth, uses the retiring Notes of Nature stamp set (one of my FAVORITES!) for some background stamping. The focal point of the card is the Deckled Circle Die cuts from the Nature’s Sweetness Designer Series Paper. Although the Deckled Circle Dies aren’t in the 2024-2025 Catalog, they and their partner, Deckled Rectangle Dies, are still available in the OnLine Exclusives. A triple wrap of Linen Thread over a third pattern of the Nature’s Sweetness DSP finishes off the card.

The final Swap Card for today didn’t have a creator’s name included but is another beauty. It also uses the Nature’s Sweetness DSP and Note of Nature stamp set and dies . The greeting label is created with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. The matte for the label is created with the same punch and is then cut in half and spread behind the greeting label to create the frame. A great little trick when using a punch or a single die to create layers.

Both the gray layer and the matte behind the label have been embossed with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder for an extra layer of texture. I really like the way the brick embossed layer is a bit longer than the green layer behind it. Three Cork Dots enforce the natural feeling.

Hope these cards give you some inspiration, I know that they sure have given me some ideas.
