Swap Card Friday

Today I chose two cards with blue and white colors because they jumped out of the pile at me as being similar, although, that’s where the similarity ends.

Although many of the products used on Cheri’s card are no longer available, there are some really cool things that she has done that I wanted to share with you.

The flower die cut (Artistic Dies) has been cut from the (Gingham Designer Series Paper) giving it a really unique look. Try die cutting from patterned paper!

A 3″ x 5″ piece of Basic White paper was embossed and then cut into 1″ strips and spaced out along the center of the card front. Strips of the same (Gingham DSP) are placed on both edges of the card front with a 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Basic White centered between them under the embossed pieces.

A greeting from the (Charming Sentiments) stamp set, placed on a label die cut with the Perennial Postage Dies, is popped up with dimensionals and some blue gems finish off the card.

So as you can see, there are several neat ideas that can be used from this card even if you don’t have the same products at hand.

The second blue card, is from Dawn Repovg and uses the hilarious Kiddin’ Around stamp set. Dawn has used a fun layout with a 1″ strip of Designer Paper at the left edge of the card and the main image stamped onto a 3 1/2″ x4″ piece of white paper. The greeting is created with the (Double Oval Punch) and a layer of Calypso Coral cardstock adds a pop of color. The image is colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I’ve tried to place ( ) around the items that are no longer available so that you know what isn’t available anymore. I hope that these cards inspire you to create something special.

Have a great day!
