Log Cabin Quilt Block Card

For today’s card, I’ve gone to the Quilt Cards Facebook Group to find instructions. There are many different types of Quilt cards featured but I’ve always liked the Log Cabin pattern so chose this one.

The directions that I used actually cut patterned paper for four quilt squares so I did four cards that are similar but each unique. I’ve used the From our Home stamp set. I was looking for something to create a couple of cards to thank some friends that offered us a place to stay on our trip from Florida back to Minnesota this spring and this stamp set is perfect.

The greeting on this card is stamped on a piece of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper. It’s been die cut with one of the Spotlight on Nature Dies and has a another die cut from the same set under it to give a peek of Summer Splash cardstock.

Each quilt square has a 2 1/4″ matte layer and 4 designer series paper squares glued on top of each other. The first is 2″, the next 1 1/2″, then 1″ and finally, 1/2″. The trick is to each successive layer onto opposite corners from the one before.

After gluing up the Log Cabin Squares, they were embossed with the Eyelet Embossing Folder. The base of each card has a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer, embossed with various embossing folders.

The house is colored by using a Blending Brush right after stamping. The gems are In Colors, matching the card bases.
