As I’m typing the rain is falling outside and I’m super happy that I pushed myself to mow the lawn (hay field length!) yesterday.
Today I’ve got a pair of bird themed cards for you. I thought that both were still available but when I checked the Feathered Flight set is no longer listed, bummer, but the super cute Bird’s Eye View set is still available. Together they show a nice contrast of realistic vs cute cartoonish styles of images.

I like the technique that this creator used of spotlighting one image with the white circle while stamping a background of birds in simple brown. This technique is very versatile and could be used with many different stamp sets.
The embossed greeting is from the Thoughtful Moments Embossing Folder/Die Duo. This Hybrid Embossing Folder/Die set is AWESOME, watch my Thoughtful Moments Video for some ideas on how to use it.

Katie’s card is so darn cute! Here are a few things that I noted about Katie’s layout. She has used a 3″ x 4 1/2″ piece of patterned paper placed even with the card top. This is a great way to cut 6″ x 6″ paper to get maximum usage. Did you notice the very subtle eye glasses stamped on the background? By using tone on tone colors the images really add a lot to the card but don’t detract from the main image. Here little book bird has been stamped and colored then fussy cut (sorry no dies with this set). The greeting is stamped on a scrap of basic white cardstock and both the greeting and the image are popped up with dimensionals.
I hope that you are inspired to create something using one of the ideas presented on these two bird worthy cards.
Have a safe and fun Memorial Day Weekend!
