Fun and Creative Card Making with Charming Duck Pond Stamp Set

This card was created during a Mystery Card Event during a meeting with my demonstrator group. Have you ever attended a Mystery Card Event?

Mystery Card? What is it? It is an online game that card makers play. First, a list is posted of paper sizes and stamp set requirements. Next, the group gathers (sometimes with wine and lots of laughs) and with a few simple instructions everyone makes their cards. The fun part is seeing how different or how similar all of the cards are at the end.

For this card I did have to reach back into my paper pack and cut a different pattern for the diagonal piece. My first choice, before I knew that it was going to be cut diagonally, wasn’t going to work, lol.

Here are the directions that I received for this card:

STAMP SET: select a sentiment that fits into a punch or label die

PAPER:

Card base (1/2″ piece of cardstock, fold in half – coordinating color)

• DSP (1-1/2″ x 4″ and 3” square of coordinating pattern )

• White (4” x 5-1/4”)

• Color (3″ x 4″)

• Coordinating color (3-1/8” x 4-1/8”

• Focal point (the punched or die cut sentiment – on white/neutral)

INK: to coordinate with DSP colors

OTHER:

• Coordinating embellishments

• Favorite adhesive

NOTES:

• This card could be landscape or portrait

• You decide, then cut your DSP accordingly

• ALSO – my card is monochromatic, but that is not required

Of course, I chose my current favorite stamp set the Charming Duck Pond! I’m working on a top secret kit class with two of my stamping buddies and guess which bundle I’m going to be using? Watch for more information on how to order the kits coming next month.

I’d love to see your take on this Mystery Card. Join my Creative Chicks Facebook Group and post a pic there.
