Happy Friday! I’ve got two more beautiful cards for you today from the Wildly Flowering Suite. If you have your 2024-2025 Annual Catalog handy, this suite is featured on pages 40 & 41. Both of the cards today feature the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper and the card stock colors have been chosen to match the patterns on the DSP.
The first card by Tracy Filter uses Wild Wheat colors. Wild Wheat is one of the 2023-2025 In Colors. I just love the label dies in this set with the pretty scallops, starburst lines and stitching! Tracy’s card is a top fold – 11″ x 4 1/4″ scored at 5 1/2″. The entire image layer, starting with the matting has been popped up with dimensionals. The Early Espresso layer is 3 1/8″ x 5 1/8″.
I think that the DSP and Wild Wheat layers under the greeting were done as a “stack and cut” technique to get the angled cut. A 3″ x 5″ piece of each (DSP & cardstock) were stacked, cut at an angle (3″ on one side and 2 1/4″ on the other) then pieced together on the card, getting parts for two cards with one cut.
A piece of Jute from the Jute Trim pack in the Wild Wheat color is stretched around the area where the two angled cuts meet. Then a separate bow is created and adhered on the right side. I like how she stamped the flower in Wild Wheat ink but did the greeting in Tuxedo Black. Truly a nice card, with lots of details.
Susan Campfield made a cool Fun Fold with a Buckle Flap in Moody Mauve and white colors. She also incorporated the Dashing Designs 3D Embossing Folder, another item in the Wildly Flowering Suite, into her card.
