Double Drapery Fold Card

The scoring and folding on this technique are a bit intense, lol, but it’s worth it! It’s hard to imagine that the folded drapery piece started out as an 8″ x 3″ piece of designer paper.

I’ve used the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper on this card. Here are the paper dimension:

  • Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Layer 1 – 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Embossed Strip 1″ x 4″
  • DSP Strip 3/4″ x 4″
  • White Strip 3/4″ x 4″
  • Drapery 8″ x 3″

Score at 1/2″, 3/4″, 1 1/2″, 1 3/4″, 2 1/2″, 2 3/4″, 3 1/2″, & 3 3/4″ Flip and repeat on the other end.

Use a pencil and mark 1 1/2″ from the bottom on each short side and mark the 3 1/2″ score line on the bottom. Then cut diagonally from the 1 1/2″ mark on the side to the 3 1/2″ mark on the bottom. Do this on both sides.

Accordion fold from both sides, meeting in the middle. Add a small amount of liquid glue in the crease for each fold and burnish with a bone folder. Add a couple strips of tear and tape to the back to adhere to the card.

Tip: If your folds look wonky, check to make sure that you haven’t missed a score line, some of them are very tiny and easy to miss.

The greeting is from the Country Birdhouse set and the dragonfly is from the Happiest Day set. The ribbon and leaves are from the upcoming Holiday Catalog and are part of the Splendid Autumn Suite Collection.
