Stack & Shuffle Cards

Want to make three cards in a hurry? Try this:

Cut three different pieces of patterned paper 3 3/4″ x 5″. Stack all three and cut all of them at once. You can cut anywhere. I did my first cut diagonally, corner to corner, then my next cut was from a corner to the center on one half of the paper. Experiment and see what looks good with the papers you have chosen.

Next, choose a color of card stock to matte the pieces on and cut them 4″ x 5 1/4″. I chose 3 different colors for my cards. Then shuffle the paper pieces so that you have one of each design in each ‘puzzle’. If your patterns don’t have a direction they can be flipped. Notice that the first card has the larger triangle at the top right, whereas the next card has the large triangle at the bottom left?

I’ve used the Winters Meadow Designer Series Paper for the patterned papers and the Happiest Day stamp set. This card has a Thick Basic White base and a Moody Mauve matte.

This one also has a Thick Basic White base but a Blueberry Bushel matte. The greeting circles are cut with the Deckled Circle Dies and the Spotlight on Nature Dies.

For the final card, I flipped the patterned paper and used the ‘back’ side design. This card has a Smoky Slate base and a Shaded Spruce matte.

I also cut scrap strips to add a bit of interest to the inside of the cards as well.

Hope you enjoy playing with this fun technique!
