Happy Wednesday! Are you getting ready for a holiday weekend at the lake? Going to the cabin or camping for a long weekend is a typical tradition for many Minnesotans.
Today’s cards were created with kits that I received as a gift for completing a DOstamperSTARS challenge. The kits came with all the paper pieces but I didn’t have the Golden Greenery Bundle or the Greetings of the Season Bundle that were used in the instructions. But, that’s okay, because I have just a couple Christmas Bundles (hahahaha).
The first card was actually the trickiest, because it had lots of stamping, using the stamp sets that I didn’t have. I pulled out the retired Christmas Pines set for the pine boughs. The greeting used on the directions was much longer than the one that I used from the Peaceful Season (coming in the new Mini Item 164145) stamp set, so I fussy cut some images (bells & greens) from the gorgeous gold foiled Seasons of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper. The kit even contained some of the Cherry Cobbler & Pearl Embellishments so I added 3 of each type, the triple berries and the singles ones, onto this card.
For the second card, I pulled in some greenery from the Winterly Tree Tops stamp set (coming in the Mini Catalog starting Sept 4, Item 164184).
The branches were colored by pulling the ink from the stamped image with a Blender Pen. They were stamped with Old Olive. The berries were colored in with the Bubble Bath Stampin’ Write Marker from the In Color Marker set. To match the berries, the clear pearls were colored with a Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend Marker. The Designer Series Paper strip is 1″ x 4″.
The third card was my favorite, a Fun Fold! It uses 2 bases to complete the card. The first base is flat 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The second base is the same size but is scored at 1 3/8″ and 2 3/4″ and folded into a Z-Fold, then adhered to the center of the flat base.
I think this card design is going to become one of the cards for my September Creative Cards Class but with an autumn theme.
