Whether you are a beginner or an old pro, this kit will give you hours of fun and some pretty items to display or gift when completed. Even better it is on sale right now! The kit comes with a pad of preprinted floral images on watercolor paper. The images are 4 1/2″ x 6″ and can be cut down for cards or used to make large sized cards, OR matte them and frame for some wall decor. The kit also contains 8 Watercolor Pencils and a Water Painter.

I pulled in some greetings from various stamp sets and added some embellishments from my stash. To flick spots onto an area (like on the greeting) get lots of water on the tip of the brush, pick up some color from the pencil lead and tap the brush again your finger to flick water onto the paper to create splatters.

I did pull in some colors from my other sets of Watercolor Pencils, like the Gorgeous Grape Assortment 2.

Experiment with add multiple colors to a flower to get shading. Even the stems were colored with both a green and a brown on this card.
Color lightly to achieve a soft look or color with more pressure to achieve deep color. Then use the Water Painter Brush to smooth and soften the pencil lines. I sometimes use the brush and pick up the color from the pencil tip and paint the images too.
Keep a paper towel handy. Don’t squeeze the brush directly over the image in case you get too much water. If you do get too much water or color in an area, blot with the paper towel but don’t rub.
Remember the kit does come with 8 water color pencils, but I have included both of the sets that are available as well. I love having a full spectrum of color.
