Today I’m playing with a new Online Exclusive stamp set and die bundle, the Year of Flowers. It has 12 flower stamps and dies, one for each month, plus a cute greeting label die, 4 awesome greeting stamps and 3 floral sprig dies.
As I was researching the names of the flowers I learned a few things. Each month has two flowers. The stamp set has a poinsettia for December but the charts all list Holly or Narcissus, I guess it was artists choice on that one, lol.
I’ve added a layer embossed with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder for more texture and depth on the card. The flowers are colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers. I was creating this for a class sample with help from my friend Sandy and knew that she had two sisters so we used their birthday months for this card. The class attendees chose which months to use on their cards.
The dies cut out the flowers but not the month name so these cute flowers can be used without the month. By placing a piece of tape over the month, inking the stamp and then removing the tape the flowers can also be used without the month name showing.
