Happy Friday! Can you believe that there’s only a little over a week left in August? It’s State Fair time already! Today I have two simply gorgeous cards done in Strawberry Slush. Brenda has created a corner fold card using the Happy Hibiscus Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies. The greeting is from the Charming Days stamp set. The debossed side of the embossed layer is used and a Black ink pad is wiped across the surface to darken the background. The flowers are then colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.

The corner is scored from the fold to 2″ down and then folded and adhered down with a dimensional. I love how Brenda lined up the Strawberry Slush Matte layers! I also love how the flower die cuts spill onto the inside of the card and peek through the fold.

JoAnn’s card uses the Impressions Abloom Bundle for another fun diagonal fold. This card has the front cut off diagonally from the fold to the bottom tip and then the cut off piece is adhered to the inside creating a peek through V. The base is created with the Two Tone cardstock so there is a dark and light effect.

The base is 10″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4″, 5″, and 6″ which creates sort of a gusset at the fold.

There is a cool pop out feature on the inside so that the greeting pops out when the card is opened. The pop out mechanism is 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ scored at 1/2″, 1 1/4″, and 2 1/2″ with a piece of 3/4″ x 3″ window sheet used to stiffen the mechanism. There is also a diagonal fold, that may have been created when the mechanism was closed. Not quite sure on that one.

A piece of Basic White was added to the back of the card, with a die cut flower for decoration, to write a note and a signature.

Wow! These are both inspiring cards. I really got into the Strawberry Slush color and have a card for Monday using it. Tomorrow is the STARS Blog Hop day so be sure to check in both tomorrow and on Monday.
