Swap Card Friday

TGIF! I’m not sure why, but even when I’m retired, Fridays seem better than Mondays, lol. Today I have two cards both in brown tones, that I think would work well for masculine cards.

This card by Lynn Feldkamp uses the Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper cut into a variety of circles using the Stylish Shapes Dies. The base and embossed layer are done in Very Vanilla with Early Espresso and Pecan Pie matting layers. The Gathering Leaves Embossing Folder from the Gathering Together Suite (OnLine Exclusive Item) is used to add texture. Lynn has used a greeting from the Branching Out stamp set combined with a label die cut with the Traditional Labels Dies from the Traditions of Christmas Suite. The pretty Irregular Weave Ribbon and Streaked Dots are from the Autumn Toile Suite.

Melissa’s card starts with a Crumb Cake (sand) base embossed with the Soft Waves Embossing Folder. A 4″ x 3″ piece of the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper is matted with a 4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ piece of Basic White which is popped up with dimensionals. The greeting, which is also popped up is stamped on a piece of white that is 4 1/4″ x 2″. The beachy themed “HAPPY” is stamped in a cool Coastal Cabana for the water part of the card. Melissa’s card also has two of the Streaked Dots as accent.

I love both of these card layouts! They are very reproducible using other stamps sets, punches or dies. I hope that you find some inspiration in them. I love taking something from the swap cards that I receive and using the idea to create a totally unique card.
