Gold Accents

Today’s cards feature Designer Series Paper with beautiful gold foil accents. This fun fold design has a unique tower type box created with the secondary base. It also has a fun fold out flap for an additional message on the inside.

The first card uses the Kintsugi Inspirations Designer Series Paper.

A greeting or image can be added to the inside flap plus …

it opens for another stamping area. These greetings are from the retired Unbounded Love stamp set but the Inspiring Inspirations stamp set which is part of the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite has some awesome greetings too.

Here are the Paper Dimensions:

  • Base 6 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 2″
  • Inner Base 10 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ scored at 2″, 3″, 5 1/2″ & 8″
  • DSP Pattern One 1 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • DSP Pattern Two 1 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ & 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ & 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ plus 2 strips 2 1/4″ x 1/2″
  • Basic White 3 pieces 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″

My second card uses the Gathering Together Designer Series Paper and the Amber Autumn Bundle. If you follow my blog, you know that I struggle with ‘straight’. Even though I used liquid glue (it does have some wiggle room) I still got the center fold out glued on crooked, (groan). The brown paper pattern on the background has a pretty green and gold foiled strip pattern on the other side. It was what I originally planned on facing up, but I really liked the way the browns made the little booklet pop. I almost cried when I put adhesive on the foiled side. To make it even worse, I goofed and ran a line of adhesive on the brown side, grrr… then had to use my adhesive eraser to remove it.

I switched up the size of the little booklet fold out on this card to only 3″ tall so that it would work with the papers I had. The other measurements are all the same. Just shorten the DSP layers to 2 3/4″ instead of 3 1/4″. The leaf on the bottom was fussy cut from the DSP. I added it to distract from the crookedness, lol. The bow is created with Old Olive Linen Thread and was adhered with a glue dot.

The focal image is heat embossed with gold embossing powder and colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers. Some Streaked Dots were added.

I hope that you have a ‘straighter’ day of crafting than I’m having, lol.
