Happy Friday! Today I have two cards for you that showcase using very little or no stamping and letting designer paper be the focal point of a card. The cards both feature the Painterly Pears Designer Series Papers.

First is Jan Larson’s card which doesn’t have ANY stamping. The focal image is a pear which has been fussy cut (scissors) from the designer paper. It is popped up with dimensionals and layered onto a circle which has been cut with the Spotlight on Nature Dies. The Rhinestone Embellishments have been colored to match the Old Olive card base and to coordinate with the pears.

The background designer paper has been cut to 4″ x 4″ which maximized the number of pieces from a 12″ x 12″ paper.

Chris has also used the Painterly Pears designer paper as the key element in creating her card but has added more layers, ribbon and a stamped greeting. The Painterly Pears designer paper background (3 3/4″ x 5″) has a narrow Mossy Meadow matte layer that is 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ which is popped up with dimensionals.

The pears, mesh and greeting label are all die cut with dies from the Perfectly Pears Die set and the greeting and inside stamping are created with the coordinating Perfectly Pears Stamp set. the die cut pears are also popped up with dimensionals.

Three of the Secret Sea In Color Flat Pearls are perfectly positioned to add some shine. A sparkly ribbon bow adds a special touch to finish off the card front.

Although swaps don’t usually require decorating the inside of the card, I always love when stampers add a special touch inside. These pears were created with a two-step stamping technique. The outline is done with one stamp and a second stamp fills in the color on the pears. I love how Chris has used a sponge to quickly add color to the leaves!
