Creating a Background with Masking

With a simple circle punch a mask can be created to add color and interest to a card background.

On this example a piece of Basic White paper was punched with a circle, then layered over a second piece of Basic White and color was added to the circle with Blending Brushes.

To create more color, on this card a second circle was punched from a post it note and placed over the sun. Then green, pink, and blue ink was added using Blending Brushes.

Watch my Creating a Mask for the Prairie Grass Stamp Set Video Tutorial to see the colorful card being created.

Want to recreate these cards? The supplies to create the colorful version are listed below. For the basic white version, leave off the green, pink and blue inks and the colored paper.
