Today I’m playing with new Pop-Up Petals Bundle, one of the just released November Online Exclusives. I made a few for swap cards at the Backstage Leadership Event that I attended last week and decided to do a video tutorial on using the dies to create the pop-up. I feel like I’m starting to get the hang of it and now need to expand my options. I’m really looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this cool set.

Here’s the inside of the last card that I created. I used a label die cut from the Traditional Labels Dies to create the a pop-up greeting instead of creating a flower bouquet. The Brushed with Beauty Designer Paper insert is just gorgeous. I’m looking forward to the Online Craft Class that Stampin’ Up! is doing later in the week. Be sure to check it out. The cost is $30 and you can watch it live or later on replay. Sometimes the replay is easier to stamp along with because it can be paused and wound back.

Here’s the front of the card. I wanted to make a bit simpler card that I could use for my in-person class next month. Lot’s of die cutting is fun but it takes a lot of time for 5-8 people to cut their stamped pieces and we always talk too much and then the class goes late.

I actually like it the best! Sometimes simpler is better! The base is Basic Beige with Calypso Coral matting. The flowers are colored with Petal Pink, Old Olive and Pecan Pie.

I wanted a long greeting across the bottom so pulled in one from the Blooming Phrases stamp set.

Here’s the inside of the card that I created during my Pop-Up Petals Video Tutorial. This card uses some different patterns of the Brushed with Beauty Designer Series Paper. The greeting label is from the Branching Out Die set.

This is the way that I created the card on the video. I thought that I would really like the pop of Strawberry Slush color on the vase and rose but after studying it, decided that I didn’t really like the color combo. So I stamped another set and glued them over the top of it.

I was much happier with this version. The colors on this card are Lost Lagoon and Darling Duckling with the rose leaves done in Shy Shamrock. The layers are all cut with the Branching Out Dies. There is a small flower in the Pop-Up Petals set that would look really cute on the center of the flower pot, maybe on the next card.

Here’s a close-up of the inside of one of the cards that I created for my swaps. I used the Country Woods Designer Paper for the insides and experimented with a few different DSPs on the fronts.

The Kintsugi Designer Series Paper went will with the Lemon Lolly bases and Blueberry Bushel matting.

I thought that the Hobby Haven Designer Paper would be fun, but it got a bit busy.

I hope that these cards inspire you to get into the craft room. Sometimes when cards don’t turn out as envisioned they become a starting point for something better. I hope that you can take these ideas and make them better.
