Swap Card Friday

Are you ready for Christmas? I did my Christmas grocery shopping yesterday in the middle of a blizzard! Yikes! I’m sure glad my husband was driving. Talk about poor choices. Thankfully my angel was looking out for us.

These are the last of my Christmas themed swap cards. I even have a couple of cards that I created from kits that I received from my upline, Dawn Olchefske. I’m never quite sure if I should consider them swap cards or my cards, lol. I didn’t design them but I did make them.

All of the cards today use the Modern Christmas Designer Series Paper. I’ll be honest, I didn’t purchase this paper because I just don’t like Black and Gold for Christmas. But…I have seen lots of very pretty cards created with it.

I think my favorite thing about Nancy’s card is the gold circle die cut with the Spotlight on Nature Dies. It really adds to the Modern Christmas DSP and makes a great layer under the trees.

Kelly’s card is a fun fold. This is actually a panel card. The base is a piece of Thick Basic White that is a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ panel. Then a 2 5/8″ x 11″ piece of Basic White is scored at 5 1/2″ and adhered to the center of the panel. The strips of gold stars are 5/8″ x 5 3/8″. A 2 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic White was embossed with the Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. The images were heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The Gold Foil die cut label (which I think comes from the Fright Night Die set) makes a great addition to the card.

Because I didn’t have the Ornamental Christmas Bundle, I used Dawn’s instructions and whatever stamps I could find that came close to matching the images and words. Many are long retired sets. I love my library of stamps! This greeting is from the Traditional Labels stamp set. I don’t remember where I found the tree.

This greeting comes from the Jolly Delivery stamp set. The center snowflake comes from the retired Starlight Dies. The die cut circle behind it is from the Spotlight on Nature Die set.

This final card again uses the Jolly Delivery stamp set with the words heat embossed in Gold Embossing Powder. I really liked this layout. The greeting is on a label created with the Sign Design Punch. This is going to have find its way onto my next order! I’m not sure why I don’t already have this hard working punch!

I do have a few more Christmas cards to share yet from my Christmas Card Chaos class. Then it’s on to Valentine’s!

Right after Christmas we take down the decorations, pack up and head to our Florida retreat. I haven’t packed a single thing yet! I pretty much take ALL of my current stamps and tools PLUS some favorites from my retired items. I’ve never left the packing so late. It’s going to end up being a grab and toss into boxes day. I’m sure I’ll end up forgetting something important and taking tons of things that I shouldn’t. Luckily we travel south with our 32′ 5th wheel camper so I do have lots of room.
