Virtual Card Making Retreat Final Installment

Today I’m sharing the last of the 15 cards from the Virtual Card Making Retreat. I hope that amongst them you have found some technique or layout to use in your card making.

This card features simple weaving on a die cut panel. The edges of two of the layers were distressed. An open scissors can be used to distress the edge or a distressing tool. The stitched twine ‘x’s’ didn’t even require threading a needle, YAY!

The inside is decorated with pop of color and a smattering of leaves.

I’ll finish with another favorite of mine! The greeting and the single flowers are heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

What is really unique about this card is the way the that the large full panel die cut is used. The ‘frame’ edges are cut off the die cut panel on two sides, plus a bit of a third side, with some fussy cutting.

Next, the leaves are stamped, some with Crumb Cake, some with Old Olive

The remaining portion of the die cut is used as a mask to add some soft color to the inside of the card and the envelope.

Some little stitches are added throughout the floral image for added texture.

Remember, the Virtual Card Making Retreat Kit is still available and includes links to the video tutorials. I also wanted to highlight one of the items in the Last Chance List. The 12 Days of Crafting Advent Calendar is filled with fun, year round, crafting products. AND don’t forget to add the product of the month to the order for only $5!
