Did you get your Valentine’s in the mail on time? If you did, you’re one up on me. Unless the US mail works faster than normal my Valentine’s will be arriving late, lol. Anyway, here is my very first Easter card for this year, created with the fun Easter Basket Bundle.

I love the basket die that comes in this bundle! It has slots in it to weave paper strips in the basket. There is even a die to make the strips, but I happened to have a scrap (or maybe a thousand) to use without doing any die cutting. The Bubble Bath Basket has woven strips from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper pack.

The grass is a die cut of Granny Apple Green paper and is brushed with Wink of Stella, as are the Easter eggs on the bottom. The flowers are colored with Calypso Coral Stamping Blends. While the centers have some of the Easter Assortment embellishments added to them. Three Iridescent Faceted Gems add a bit more sparkle.

The greeting is heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder to match the sprinkles on the gorgeous Splash of Sparkle Designer Series Paper (DON’T PASS UP THIS AWESOME DSP!). It’ is fussy cut’s trimmed close to allow more of the pretty DSP to show through.

For the inside, a strip of the Easter Joy Specialty Designer Paper lines the bottom. This paper is thicker than most DSP, is glossy on one side, and has shinny accents, WOW! Another AWESOME DSP!

I wanted to say ‘wishing you a happy Easter’ but the greeting in the Easter Basket set says Happy Easter. There is a greeting that says For You, but I reached for the Delightful Wishes stamp set and used the large ‘wishing’ stamp and then inked just the ‘you a’ from the from the ‘you a happy birthday’ stamp.

The envelope got a little love too with some flowers which I colored with the retired Stampin’ Write Markers. If you use Stampin’ Blend Markers on the envelope, be sure to place a scrap piece of paper inside the envelope when coloring to catch the ink that will bleed through.
