Double Up Card Technique

This technique uses a double layer of the exact same pattern of designer paper. The bottom layer is left whole, while the top layer is sliced into strips. Every other strip is adhered with foam strips so that they are raised up. The other strips are removed and can be used to make another card.

This card uses a bold stripped pattern of paper from the Boho Vibes Designer Series Paper Pack (DSP).

For this paper the one of the blue stripes was center and then the paper was cut off on both edges to make a 4″ wide piece. To make the two pieces of DSP exactly the same, I cut them together. They are 5 1/4″ tall.

Next, I took 1 of the sheets and sliced it into strips, cutting on along the outside of each of the redlines. As the strips are cut, lay them onto the matching place on the whole DSP layer. This way they will stay in order.

As the foam strips are added and every other layer is adhered to the whole, base DSP, remove the unused strips. (Use these on another project).

Add a focal point and greeting. The flower, greeting, and die cuts used here are from the Lovely Arrangements Bundle.

This card uses the Splendid Autumn DSP with a greeting from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder/Dies.

These strips are cut 1 centimeter wide.

This card was created during my Double Up Card Technique Video Tutorial.

The strips for this card were cut 3/8″ wide with the exception of the last one which ended up 1/4″. I really like the double greeting labels from the Lovely Arrangements Die set.

Use the cut off bits to decorate the inside. This greeting is from the Cutest Crew stamp set. I wanted to add something that said something about have a great day.
