Sweet Candy Canes

Candy Canes are such an icon of Christmas! Even if you don’t like to eat them, they make such pretty decorations. The Sweet Candy Canes Bundle is extra special because it has both stamps and dies which show the Candy Canes facing both directions. How awesome is that! So it allows for creating crossed canes like in the card below.

No trying to do mirror image stamping or anything fancy! The Candy Canes Die set also includes the large die with the diagonal stripes used on this card. Simply cut the cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ die cut, then add liquid glue to the edges to adhere.

The Candy Canes Dies do include two little leaves but I decided to pull out the Christmas Pinecone Dies instead. The Christmas Pinecone Dies carried over from last year’s holiday items. I used the large die and cut it into three pieces so that I got three cards out of each die cut.

Did you notice the SHINNY GOLD layer on the greeting? The Distressed Gold Specialty Paper is easy to over look in the catalog. It’s found on page 139 of the Annual Catalog and tends to blend in, but WOW it’s a show stopper in person.

Another thing that I love about the Sweet Candy Canes stamp set is the variety of greeting stamps for both the outside and the inside of the card. The outside greeting is heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and then fussy cut so that more the the pretty die cut circle of the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper shows through.

The inside greeting has a little splash of green just like on the front of the card. I almost forgot to mention the Sweet Sorbet Bakers Twine placed under the greeting. I love that it coordinates with the cardstock and ink used on the rest of the card.
