#DOswts398 Layout Challenge

Happy Saturday 🙂 I’m listening to Christmas tunes on Christmas 108 radio and getting my Christmas card spirit. Of course this fun layout isn’t just for Christmas but I’m focusing on Christmas cards for the next few weeks until I get enough done for my Christmas list!

I also used my friend and fellow STAR Susan’s card (be sure to click on her link) and the Mini Catalog sample below for inspiration for this card. My creative mojo has been missing so I needed lots of inspiration to turn out a card, lol.

I liked all of the greenery around the candy canes but chose to use only the dies from the Candy Cane Die set for my card.

The greeting button is made with 3 layers of paper and there are dimensionals under the red layer and the white layer. The layers are all die cut from the Layering Circles Dies in Red Glimmer Paper, Garden Green cardstock and Basic White cardstock. The ink is Sweet Sorbet. The leaves are done in Sweet Sorbet, Garden Green, Vellum, and black Metallic & Shimmer paper. (FYI: I did the Metallic leaves in the Evening Evergreen color and glued them on, then realized that I had cut two layers of the paper and the black one was the one on the bottom that got adhered, the green looked better but I went with the black)

Paper Dimensions:

  • Card Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • First Matte 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Second Matte 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Larger DSP 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″
  • Smaller DSP 1 1/4″ x 3 1/2″
