Coffee with Friends

Good Morning Stampers! Well, at least it’s morning when I’m typing, hehehe. I’m curious, do you see a stamp set and gravitate to a single stamp or do you plan how you can use the entire set to best advantage? I tend to hone in on a single image or greeting and just have to have it! For this Coffee with Friends stamp set, it was the croissants, I love croissants. Then I looked at the other images and greetings and loved them too. Win, Win! Sometimes, I’m not as taken with the rest of the images and then I have a big decision to make.

This fun pocket card design is one that I saw on a tutorial by Ronda Wade. The upper right portion of the card base is cut off and the bottom is glued to create a pocket. I’ll do a video on this soon, but today, I’m off to lunch with my big brother (actually, my only sibling). It’s taken us three weeks to finally arrive at a date when we are all free! Who knew that 4 retired people would be so busy! I haven’t seen him since Christmas although we have spoken on the phone.

I do have to warn you, this image is a bit time consuming to color! I had a migraine when I woke this morning and as I was coloring this, I did begin to wish that I had decided on a black and white image, lol. This particular image really makes me think of my friend Kathy, although, I made her hair red like my friend Sandy, guess I was thinking of both of them. Kathy and I walk every Tuesday morning when our schedules allow and then sit on a similar bench by my koi pond when done and watch the fish. This year I have a bunch of babies and we have had fun watching them grow.

In the supply list below I’ve include all of the Stampin’ Blend Markers used to color the image. Yikes! I had to leave them all out on the table until I was done in order to do a complete list.

I even added my favorite image to the envelope.

I hope that you get the time this week to sit and have coffee with a friend.

  1. Such an interesting card format! I’ll have to try it out. To buy a stamp set, I generally have to think I’ll use the majority of the stamps. Otherwise I have trouble bringing myself to spend the money. That doesn’t mean there aren’t sets where I love one stamp and try to convince myself to add the set to my order, though! 😀
