The Lazy Days stamp set and dies are all about relaxing on porches and enjoying the back yard. I’ve got a few more cards to share from the Camping & Stamping Event and then I’m really getting anxious to show you some items from the new Holiday Mini Catalog which is available to order from starting September 6.
Card number one has several die cut items: the hanging basket, bushel basket, table, rocking chair, rug and railing are all die cuts. They are all stamped first except for the railing which doesn’t have a matching stamp so is die cut from Pecan Pie card stock.
I love the fancy border stamp used to make the trim on the top of the porch! It’s just a short stamp, but it lined up well. I started in the middle and then stamped on both ends. I’ve used Pecan Pie, Boho Blue, Lemon Lolly, Granny Apple Green, and Old Olive colors.
The sky was colored with a Blending Brush and Boho Blue ink before the railing was added but after the trim was stamped on the top. I used several post it notes to mask off the floor.
After stamping the chair, table and bushel basket I used a Blender Pen to pull the ink into the middle of the outlines to fill them in just a little.
The card base is a standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ in Pecan Pie with a Basic White image layer that is 5 1/2″ x 4″.
The second card uses the cute little bird house image stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink. The posts are a partial die cut from the large porch frame die. Each post has a single Old Olive die cut vine with some of the Loose Daisies Embellishments. A 3/4″ circle punch (retired) of Lemon Lolly adds some sunshine. The greeting and birdhouses are popped up with dimensionals. The scalloped rectangle is die cut from the Scalloped Contours Dies in Blueberry Bushel. The pretty stripped Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper is cut 5″ x 3 3/4″.
I hope that you are staying cool! Our air conditioner decided to quit on Friday evening. Boy, am I spoiled! I am so used to having a nice cool house to live in. Here’s to hoping the tech can fix it today and he doesn’t need to order parts!
