Darn, in all the recent excitement in my life, I almost forgot that there was a challenge today, but was fun getting back to my stamp room To make a quick card. Creating cards is very therapeutic and sketch challenges are my favorite when I need a creative jump start.

I’ve flipped the layout to portrait to accommodate my very long necked friend from the Festive & Fun stamp set. The Tailor Made Tags Dies made this tag layout easy to create.

I wanted to add a pop of color to my greeting tag, but it did take me two tries to get it right. To create the watercolor background, I used all 5 colors of the 2022-2024 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers and added the ink to a D sized clear block. I found it was easiest to start in the middle of the block and work both ways adding color with the markers in strips until the block was completely covered with ink. Then I spritzed water over the block and stamped it on my tag which already had the greeting on it. I thought that the greeting got a bit lost on my first try, so for my final tag, I stamped the greeting with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder and that did the trick. I was using Basic White card stock so it really curled, but placing a block on it while it dried did the trick. The tag was adhered with dimensionals.

The giraffe is colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers. I used the light color first and then added shadows with the dark marker of the same color. I did not go back and blend the colors again with the light marker, but if you wanted a more subtle look, going over again with the light color would achieve this.

To give the Granny Apple Green background some texture, the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder was used. After embossing, the edges were flicked with Granny Apple ink using a Blending Brush.

Five Glitter Sequins give a little sparkle as well as a light coat of Wink of Stella on the greeting tag.

To hold the Baker’s Twine in place a Glue Dots was added under each knot.

For the inside a greeting from the Festive & Fun set was used plus a couple of the cut critters. The Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Markers was used to add just a little color to the candy cane and hat.
