Boho Blue Sympathy Card

Today’s card is the first of five using the 2022-2024 In Colors to create sympathy cards using the Quiet Reflection stamp set and various other sets, to show how combining different sets can extend the possibilities.

This card uses only Boho Blue ink. It does use three different card stocks. The base is Very Vanilla Thick, because I like the feel of the thick card stock for the base, and it doesn’t bend if standing. The next layer is the Boho Blue matte which is 4″ x 5 1/4″ and the stamped layer is regular Very Vanilla at 3 3/4″ x 5″.

The wave is from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set and a Vignette effect was created by using a Blending Brush to add color (again, Boho Blue) to the edges of the card, with it being darker at the edge of the paper and lighter toward the center.

To create the Vignette Effect, load ink onto the Blending Brush and then tap off the excess onto the Glass Matt or Grid Paper. Start with a swirling motion, just off the edge of the paper and then pull the ink onto the paper. Continue swirling the ink onto the paper, getting a darker color at the edge and moving towards the center until there is no ink at the center. When using the Glass Matt, ink can continue to be picked up from on the glass.
