Today’s card is a bit more laid back than the colorful roosters of yesterday, but it does also have a bird them. It’s a nature inspired sympathy card.
The sand is created using the Seaside Bay Dies. It started out as a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Crumb Cake which was then cut into three pieces with the border die. A Blending Brush was used to darken the edges with Pecan Pie ink. The greeting was stamped right onto the sand using Pecan Pie ink.
The bird is stamped on a new paper color, Beige (watch for it in the new Annual Catalog), with Pecan Pie ink and then die cut with the Seaside Bay Dies. Two clumps of grass were also cut with the dies, from Wild Wheat paper. There are two dimensionals behind the bird’s body and his feet were adhered with liquid glue.
The background is a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White paper which has been embossed with the Raindrops Embossing Folder. After embossing, a Blending Brush with Balmy Blue ink was lightly brushed over the paper so that only the rain drops picked up the blue color. A final brush of Wink of Stella was added to the rain drops.
For the inside of the card, a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White was added, with a 1″ x 5″ piece of the 2023-2025 In Color Designer Series Paper adhered to the inside edge.
A Basic Gray matte that is 4″ x 5 1/4″ was added under the main image to set it off from the Balmy Blue card base.
