Beautiful World – Adventure Awaits

This is my first card made with a new item from the 2020-21 Annual Catalog. These items will be available to purchase starting June 3.

As a kid, I was enamored with globes! I remember one that I had of the moon. It had red arrows marking the moon landings, which of course were current history back then. That one just sat on a round base and didn’t spin. I also had a world globe that spun and I remember spinning it and seeing where I would go next (only in my imagination of course!)

This suite is called the World of Good and it includes some beautiful DSP with foil accents, the Beautiful World stamp set and matching dies, antique corner embellishments and slides, brass foil sheets, suede ribbon, Memories and More card pack and my favorite the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. To make it easy to order the entire suite, enter item 154140 to buy the entire collection.

I did use the Stamparatus to stamp the globes and stamped them multiple times to get a nice dark image. Even after reinking my tuxedo black ink pad, I wasn’t satisfied with how dark the images were coming out. The Stamparatus is great for restamping an image with rubber stamps to get deep complete ink color. No worries about lining it up either.

I used a sponge dauber to darken the edges of the 3 3/4″ x 5″ Crumb Cake layer that is embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I also ran the dauber over the center of the paper to hit the raised parts a bit.

It’s hard to see on the very vanilla paper strip but it is embossed with one of the dies from the Beautiful World Dies. It is an embossing die with what looks like a journal or ledger entry. I had to experiment with layers on my die cutting machine before I got the right mix to get the embossing just right. I also tried inking the die, but didn’t really like that look. So, my suggestion if you aren’t happy with the depth of the emboss, add a shim or use an embossing pad with your die cutter to get the look that you want.
