This card was created for a demonstrator swap that I participated in using items from the new 2020-21 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog. I decided to make the Summer Days Hostess stamp set the focus of this tri-fold card and used the A Grand Kid stamp set for the greetings. I used the little girl for the inside because I have 6 grandsons and don’t get to send birthday cards to any granddaughters.

The In Color Designer Series Paper with the dots made a great frame for the front which was cut out with the Stitched Rectangle Die. I cut the corners at a 45 degree angle, layering them over each other and cutting both at once. It was really putzy to get them right. If I did it again, I would just run one side past the other and not do the 45 degree corners.

I used Watercolor Paper for most of the cards but ran out of paper before I had all of my swaps done so used some Shimmery White Paper and found that it worked just great too. When stamping on the Watercolor paper I like to use the Stamparatus. Because of the rough texture of the watercolor paper it often takes more than one time stamping to get a nice dark, clear image and when using the Stamparatus it’s easy to re-ink the stamp and stamp in the exact same place a second time. The images are colored by squishing the ink pad lid (closed) into the ink pad and then picking up the ink from the lid (open) with the watercolor brush. The words on the front “Best.Grandkid.Ever.” were colored in with a Stampin’ Write Marker.

The Misty Moonlight back panel is 4 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ and adhered to the back of the card base with Multipurpose liquid glue.
