I just had to share this photo of my grandson Isaac! We were at our cabin this weekend and Isaac, who’s 3, got a new fishing pole and caught his first fish. He was so excited. He even picked up the fish and released it back into the lake, then jumped up and down and squealed, “I want to catch another one!” It was definitely one of those special moments.
Now on to card designs! The inspiration for today’s card is a great nostalgic graphic from The Card Concept.

I really liked the graphic and rather than choosing a single object to focus my card design around, I decided to create a cabin wall with a table full of camping gear.

This fun at the lake card is done in the Vintage Style. It has an old antique feel and uses layers of hand cut images that have been stamped and colored with Stampin’ Blend alcohol markers. To add to the antique feel of the card, I’ve searched through my stamp collection and dusted off a few ‘antique’ stamp sets to create the pile of camp gear that is on the table. Roughing It 1998, Under the Stars 2008, The Great Outdoors 1990, Chalk Talk 2013, and Fishin’ 1996.
If you want to add a camping stamp set to your collection, Stampin’ Up! has a great new camping set in the new 2020-2021 catalog called Campology, head on over to my store to get your set.
